The surface area of the elemental carbon is one of the greatest benefits of biochar. It is the reason char increases the rate of nutrient turnover. This in turn makes nutrients available to your plants more readily.

A lot of our effort goes into getting maximum surface are natural biochar. When we choose our biochar well, and age it for a length of time in certain conditions, the surface area we can achieve is really great.
